Comments:
This Premium ATA colt also has the "Who's-Who" of absolutely impeccable Trakehner breeding in his pedigree -- lineage so essential to preserve for the future of the Trakehner breed here in the US and abroad -- from his beautiful dam, Hoffnung to his outstanding sire, Happy Hour. At this time, Happy Hour, Heartsong's sire is the only approved son of the 1994 German Bundeschampion, Induc.
This is the 2nd outstanding colt produced via a carefully researched line breeding. Heartsong has many similarities to his full brother, Heartfelt, yet unique. He shares the same wonderful temperament and is also extremely willing and easy - takes things in stride... Like his brother, Heartsong is an affectionate, "touchy-feely" fella who is "in your pocket" -- in a positive way... He is inquisitive, brave and a quick study. Heartsong has a wonderful accommodating nature and sensibility -- quite amazing for a foal of such a young age. Heartsong's level of maturity is well beyond his tender young age...
To date, the pairing of Happy Hour and Hoffnung has been absolutely superb. We could not have asked for more. They have wonderful chemistry, and thus far have produced 2 solid stallion candidates with great athletic potential and the mind for FEI-level performance under the right guidance, which plays heavily into any foal's future.
Heartsong earned excellent marks and comments at the ATA inspection in Wisconsin this past August -- he was barely 3 months of age, if that. Like his brother, Heartsong is of excellent height and bone and continues to receive rave reviews from his vets, farrier and notable breeders and trainers. He too clearly demonstrates powerful, uphill, elastic and supple movement with excellent "push power" and reach. He is "dressage" from head to hoof although there is some notable jumping in his lineage, as well! All who have met Heartsong are totally won over by this dynamic young colt foal who, like his brother, excudes undeniable "presence" and "panache" (panache is now used to describe someone who has a dashing confidence of style, or shows a certain flamboyance and courage, and is a familiar word now in English. Its meaning has also been extended to include anything capable of displaying such attributes). Heartsong too is a very promising stallion prospect.
In addition to Happy Hour's reknowned sire line, his lovely, kind and very special dam, Heimkehr III, infused her own impeccable lineage during her breeding career. Heimkehr III first stood in Germany and later moved on to Denmark, where her first born son Henessey (by Arthus) was accepted for NMS. Although in the final round he was not approved, Henessey participated in the 100-day test, which he won with a dressage index of 135 points.
The large mare family of Herbstgold traces back to the original Main Stud Trakehnen mare Herbstzeit (by Bussard). Some superb examples of this family include E.H. Herzzauber (Champion NMS 1991), Herzensdieb (Champion NMS 2005), Herbstruf, Hibiskus (Reserve Champion NMS 2002), E.H. Herzruf, Hirtentanz, Hölderlin, Hirtenruf (Reserve Champion NMS 1998), Houston, the Ibikus-sire Hertilas, E.H. Hofrat (Reserve Champion NMS 2000), Hoftänzer (Reserve Champion NMS 2001), Herzbube, Hilarius, Herzkristall, Herzog, Herbstglanz, Herzglanz, Herzfunke, Herbstwind and the international dressage horse Hirtentraum.
Cornus, Hoffnung's sire, also brings superb breeding and performance lines into this mating. Interesting details and data are available at this link (in German - can be translated via Google): Trakehner Fruen
