In our ongoing effort to provide the highest level of
service for our clients, we offer several breeding options for the convenience
of mare owners. Included with each shipment of fresh chilled semen
is two large bags of semen and a detailed semen analysis, shipped in
an Equitaner with two cans of refrigerant. We constantly strive to maintain
a very open line of communication with all Mare Owners and their attending
veterinarians to ensure a smooth, successful and pleasant breeding experience.
Happy Hour's fresh chilled and frozen
semen quality and conception rates have consistently been excellent, receiving
extremely positive feedback from attending veterinarians and with most mares
conceiving on the very first cycle!
Option #1 - This option is for frozen
semen breeding (available for viable mare candidates) and carries
a Live Foal Guarantee. In the event your mare does not produce a live
foal that stands and nurses after the first breeding season, your mare
may be entitled to return breeding privileges for the next breeding
season. Another mare may be substituted, if necessary, but only if approved
by us in advance. If the same mare is rebred or a new mare substituted at any time, a Booking Fee of
$200.00 will be required. Mare Owner pays all processing and round-trip
shipping fees for transported frozen semen. The first processing fee for frozen semen (shipped directly from Hawk's Run Trakehners) is included in the Breeding Fee.
Breeding Fee for Option #1 - $1,100.00
(Booking Fee NOT required for initial contract)
Option #2 - NEGOTIABLE/AVAILABLE FOR SELECT MARES. PLEASE CONTACT STALLION OWNER TO DISCUSS DETAILS AND SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS. This
option is for fresh, chilled/transported semen and also carries a
Live Foal Guarantee. In the event your mare does not produce a live
foal that stands and nurses after the first breeding season, your mare
may be entitled to return breeding privileges for the next breeding
season. Another mare may be substituted, if necessary, but only if
approved by us in advance. If a new mare is substituted, a new Booking
Fee of $400.00 will be required. If it is necessary to rebreed in the
3rd (and final) breeding season for either the same/original or
approved substitute mare, a new Booking Fee of $400.00 will be due.
Mare Owner pays collection and round-trip shipping fees for transported
chilled semen. The first collection is included in the initial Breeding Fee.
Breeding Fee for Option #2 - $1,400.00 ($1,000.00
+ 400.00)
(INCLUDES Booking Fee of $400.00, payable in
advance)
Option #3 - Frozen semen is also available
at a per-shipment cost of $600.00 ( shipment includes 2 doses @
8 straws/dose and specific thawing instructions from Select Breeders
Service). Purchase of frozen semen as described in this paragraph
WILL NOT include a Live Foal Guarantee. Feel free to contact
us for additional information. We are doing more and more frozen semen
breeding each year, and thus far the success rate is 100% conception with most
conceiving on the very first cycle.

Breeding with frozen semen definitely offers significant advantages for
our clients and their vets. Mare Owner pays processing and round-trip
shipping fees for transported frozen semen under this
option. Stallion Owner reserves the right to limit the number of
shipments of frozen semen.

DONATED BREEDING (DISCLAIMER):
Please be aware our breeding contract for donated
breedings may differ from the contracts
used for the above-described Breeding Options #1 - #3. It is the Mare
Owner's responsibility to advise Stallion Owner, IN ADVANCE,
of their intent to bid on Happy Hour via one of the stallion donation
auctions in which he may participate from time-to-time, so we may send you the appropriate
donated breeding contract for your review. Frozen semen is used for
all donated breedings unless a mare is not a good candidate for insemination
with frozen semen. Fresh, chilled/transported semen may be considered
for a donated breeding at Stallion Owner's discretion; however, additional costs will be incurred by Mare Owner.
Stallion Owner accepts no responsibility if the Mare Owner has not
made the intent clear for a donated breeding in advance. Thank You.

10% discount for the second mare bred to Happy
Hour during the
same season
15% discount for the third
mare bred to Happy Hour during the same

20% discount for the fourth mare bred to Happy
Hour during the same season
- Early Booking Discounts *
5% off the Breeding Fee for Option #1 and #2. Booking Fee, as applicable, received on or before March 31.
10% off the Breeding Fee for Option #1 and #2. Booking Fee, as applicable, received on or before January 31.
- Full Payment Discount *
15% off the Breeding Fee for
Option #1 and #2. Booking Fee, as applicable and Breeding Fee received
on or
before January 31.
- Return Breeding Discount *
20% off the Breeding Fee
for Option #1 and #2 for a return breeding to the same
mare two (2) or more times,
and for clients who have bred any mare(s) two (2) or more times to Happy Hour.
- PLEASE NOTE: Single discount offered per contract only unless
otherwise noted. Discount calculated on Breeding fee portion only.
For all exported shipments from the U.S., it is
the responsibilty of Mare Owner/Purchaser to pay for any and all Customs'
fees, duty/taxes, etc. Stallion Owner is not responsible for any of
these fees, as applicable.
MISCELLANEOUS FEES:
- Stallion Booking Fee: $400.00 for all options, as applicable; payable
in advance unless otherwise indicated.
- Collection/Shipping Deposit: For both fresh and
frozen semen contracts, a current/valid credit card number shall be
placed on file in advance with Hawk's Run Trakehners prior to shipment
of semen. All fees, including the stallion collection fee(s),
round-trip shipping fee(s), container replacement, etc., will be
applied to the credit card. In the event the Equitaner or
dry/vapor shipper is not returned to Hawk's Run Trakehners or Select
Breeder's Service (as applicable) within three (3) days of receipt, a
fee of Ten Dollars ($10.00) will be incurred for each additional day.
Damage and/or replacement cost of the container will be
applied to the credit card as the first option. Credit card purchases must be
approved/credited to Hawk's Run Trakehners a minimum of five (5) days
prior to anticipated shipping.
If the use of a credit card is not practical, a check/cash/money order
may be paid to Hawk's Run Trakehners prior to the anticipated
semen collection (must be received a minimum of seven (7) days prior
to anticipated shipping). All collection, semen shipping fees, container damage/replacement, etc.,
will be deducted from the deposit. Additional deposit monies may be
required if the balance of the deposit is inadequate to cover expenses and/or container cost.
Any remaining deposit funds are returned to the Mare Owner along with an itemized statement of expenses at the end of the
breeding season upon Stallion Owner's receipt of required breeding
forms.
Collection/Shipping Deposit paid via check is $800.00,
payable with balance of the applicable Breeding Fee prior to any shipments
of semen.
- Chilled Semen Collection Fee: $200.00 per collection
- Frozen Semen Processing Fee: $100.00 per shipment (when shipped directly from Hawk's Run Trakehners)
- Video/CD Fee: No charge. If you enter into a contract
to breed your mare(s) to Happy Hour, the
video/CD is yours to keep. Otherwise, we request the video be returned
so we may offer it to others interested in Happy
Hour.
- Breeding Season Dates: Typically, our breeding season
begins around March 15 and ends in early August
- Semen Collection Days: Monday through Friday
